Musae presents Holiday Concert at Berkeley Public Library

Berkeley, November 17, 2014 –Ring in the winter with the women’s vocal ensemble Musae. This talented musical group presents Pastime in Good Company on Saturday, December 6, from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Central Library, 2090 Kittredge (at Shattuck) in the Art & Music department on the fifth floor. This joyous concert celebrates the spirit of the season with songs that range from works heard in Henry VIII’s court to jazzy arrangements of favorite carols. In between are forays into Armenian, Estonian, Latvian, and Swedish holiday music.

The Musae ensemble takes its name from the original “ladies of song,” the nine Muses of classic Greek mythology. Founded in 2004, Musae performs diverse and accessible music throughout the Bay Area, and continues to stretch the boundaries of traditional repertoire for women's voices. Call 510-981-6241 for more information about this program.
