Your ‘Lucky Day’ at the Berkeley Public Library

Berkeley, November 25, 2014—The Berkeley Public Library unveiled its latest new service, the ‘Lucky Day’ Collection, at all five locations, offering library users the chance to find in-demand books, movies and music when they visit. The collection includes materials for all users, from the youngest child to adult and everyone in-between. “This is a really fun way for users to get excited about what we offer in a more immediate way; the thrill of finding a popular ‘treasure’ on the shelf without waiting through a hold list is really exciting for our community,” says Rachel MacNeilly, the Library’s Collection Development, Adult and Teen Services Manager.

The collection offers books, film and music for all ages with a 21-day loan period. No holds or renewals are permitted. Checkouts are limited to two ‘Lucky Day’ items at any one time. Checked out items can be returned to any Berkeley Public Library location. The library will continuously update this collection with newer in-demand titles on a regular ongoing basis. Visit your favorite Berkeley Public Library location and try your luck!
