Professor and Volcanologist to speak at Family Program about Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii


Berkeley, May 7th, 2018—The Berkeley Public Library’s Central Children’s Room is pleased to welcome Dr. Umberto Pappalardo, professor of Archeology at the Istituto Universitario, Naples to the Central Library on Thursday, April 19, at 4:00 pm.

Dr. Pappalardo will discuss the destructive power of Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii, and why people throughout time have been attracted to such a dangerous region. This is a family program open to ages 8 and up, as well as teens and adults. The program will be held in the Community Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Central Library.
