Wondering About Weed Founders Kaisha-Dyan McMillan and Penny Barthel visit the North Branch to host Cannabis 101: a thoughtful educational discussion exploring cannabis as a plant, a medicine, and a Federal Schedule 1 drug.
After California voters legalized adult-use in 2016, Penny and Kaisha each began their own exploration into the newly legal landscape, but kept coming across a blend of heavy science and stoner mystique that didn’t align with who they were: cannacurious grown-ups simply trying to understand the plant and its potential benefits. Inspired to bridge this gap in education with experiences free from judgment and rich in community, Wondering About Weed came into bloom in 2019. Through fun, interactive Bay Area-based classes on everything from home cultivation to gummy-making and more, Wondering About Weed is on a mission to empower people to explore cannabis for their wellness needs.
In this highly engaging workshop Kaisha and Penny will demystify what cannabis is, how it went from legal to illegal and back again, and key basics to know when considering it for your own therapeutic needs.
