Our new library cards are available! If you see one you like, stop by a service desk at any location. There’s no charge! Whether this is your first card with us, or your 10th, you can do lots of great things with it.
With your library card you can:
- Borrow up to 75 items at any time.
- Read and listen to books online using Overdrive.
- Learn up to 34 different languages and 15 ESL courses using Mango Languages.
- Use enki library to find encyclopedias; recovered classics; short stories & essays; and Library Journal SELF-e Select: a best-of self-published collection!
- Access the Internet using one of our computers or laptops or your own via our free WiFi.
- Watch Free Movies using the On Demand Video Streaming Service Kanopy.
- Access many of our online resources.
- Use our free Link+ Service to borrow from libraries accross California and Nevada.
- Access to free and discounted passes to venues throughout the Bay Area through Discover & Go.
- Berkeley residents and business owners may check out tools at our Tool Lending Library.
- Return materials to any our Berkeley Public Library locations.
