Urban Sketching @U.C. Berkeley Campus

Bring your favorite journal, art materials or just pencil and paper and join us for Urban Sketching.  We sketch the world around us to observe and connect with our surroundings.  While drawing we try to mindfully to stay in the moment, without  attachement to the final product.  Through this practice our drawing skills and confidence ultimately improve over time.  This group is for all levels of skill and experience.

"Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are." -José Ortega y Gasset

We will meet on U.C. Berkeley's Sproul Plaza near Sather Gate.  There we will sketch trees, architecture and people.

In the event of rain we will sketch from the covered area outside one of the halls or a nearby café, such as the Free Speech Cafe.  Please note that there is some very limited, free 2 hour parking within walking distance.   Future meetings will be held at other outdoor Berkeley locations.
