No Dar Papaya: Fotografías De Colombia @Central A&M

These remarkable images, created with a Polaroid camera, celebrate the beauty, diversity, and distinctive national character of Colombia. The work presents a unique vision of the country that is an alternative to the ubiquitous portrayals of Colombia commonly found in the international media, which focus on conflict, violence, drug trafficking, and suffering.

"Women Around the World" photo exhibit by Nancy Rubin @North

March 8th is International Women's Day, the annual celebration of the achievements of women throughout history. In the more than 100 countries where the holiday is observed the focus of the observance differs, influenced by local customs, achievements, and challenges. In general, the occasion is observed with respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements. This year’s theme asks: Will you #BeBoldForChange?

Facing West Shadow Opera @Central CMR

Join us in the 3rd floor Community Meeting Room for Facing West Shadow Opera's production of "The Euphoria of Walt Whitman," a live Baroque puppet opera exploring queer poet Walt Whitman’s obsession with the traveling operas of the Wild West, phrenology, and the gold rush era. Shadow puppets are accompanied by live music written by Purcell, Monteverdi, Caccini, George Crumb and improvisation
