The Art of HOWL @ North

Visit North Branch and explore The Art of Howl, a special exhibit on loan from the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco. (during regular branch hours) Closed Sundays.

The exhibit features both art -- from acclaimed local artist Eric Drooker's graphic novelization and animation of Allen Ginsberg's controversial (and much-banned) poem, Howl -- as well as the full text of the poem reproduced in large format.

Faces of Fatherhood: Celebrating Bay Area Dads @North

The North Branch Library celebrates Fatherhood and the art of Photography with an exhibit by local artist Nancy Rubin.

Nancy Rubin is the photographer of the popular photoblog, Humans of Berkeley and the Bay Area, and a former Berkeley High School teacher. Since her days as a teacher, she has been aware of the importance of having fathers be engaged in the lives of their children, and the dearth of this kind of involvement. From behind the lens, she has captured men of Berkeley and the Bay Area lovingly involved with their children.
