A Rising Tide is a powerful documentary by filmmaker Cheryl Fabio, that updates the narrative about the potential avalanche of houselessness, as it demonstrates that the homeless crisis is solvable. Each of us can act toward the end of homelessness in Alameda County and across the nation.

Cheryl started a non-profit, Sarah Webster Fabio Center for Social Justice, named after her mother, the great revolutionary poet. She continues to work on documentary films. Thanks to a grant from the National Film Preservation Foundation, the Black Film Center/Archive at Indiana University preserved Cheryl Fabio’s 1976 documentary film Rainbow Black: Poet Sarah W. Fabio, a legacy of her mother and her work.

Join us for s screening of the film and Q&A with the director Cheryl Fabio  .
