Ukulele for beginners pt. 2 - Three Chord Songs

This is the second in our three-part ukulele class.  Following up to our introduction with the three basic chords (C,F G and variations) and some basic strumming pattersn we'll now explore three-chord songs in various keys, as a gentle way of expanding our chord playing vocabulary. We'll also larn the basics of fingerpicking as an exciting way to give a different flavor to our songs.

Decolonized Kitchen @Claremont

Join us at Claremont Branch for the Decolonized Kitchen, a gathering for anyone looking to learn in community about indigenous foodways, ethnobotany, and cooking! Join Maribel Garcia for an hour of connection and reclamation while we learn about our native plant relatives one recipe at a time through discussion, a presentation, and a cook along. The Joys of Chinese Brush Painting @West

Celebrate Mid Autumn Festival: Learn about the legends of the Autumn Moon and create beautiful artworks in ink and colors. Artist-instructor Pauline Tsui presents a hands-on workshop with easy steps on how to paint seasonal flowers, fruits, and small animals. Art supplies, including brushes, papers, Chinese ink, and watercolors will be provided. This class is for beginner level participants. Pre-registration is required, space is limited.
