Come learn the basics of machine sewing with local sewing expert, Kathe Boyd! In this 2-hour workshop, we will go over how to set up a sewing machine and do basic stitches. All materials provided. Teens and adults only, please. This workshop will repeat on May 7th. All workshops will cover the same material, so please choose one to attend.

CraftLab: DIY Tshirt Bag @West

Whether you're looking to learn a new project or just have some fun with like-minded individuals, CraftLab is the perfect space for you. Join us for an afternoon of creativity and let's build something amazing together!

This month, we will be upcycling Tshirts and sewing them into bags!

From beginner to expert sewers, all teens and adults are invited. While will provide all the materials needed, you are also invited to bring your own Tshirts if you'd like.

We have limited sewing machines so space is limited. Please RSVP by calling 510-981-6270.

Collage Art for Spring @THP South

Join us as make collage art to bring in the new Spring season!

This is a self-guided arts & craft program where we provide materials for you to make collage art while listening to music. 

This month we are celebrating Women's History Month by listening to the best of Ms. Nina Simone, courtesy of one of the library's online music catalog sites, Alexander Street. 

All materials are provided. 

This program is for Adults & Teens.

BPL Knitting Group Yarn Swap @CMR

Looking for new yarn for a fiber arts project? Doing spring cleaning and want to clear out some of your yarn stash? Join the BPL Knitting Group for our first yarn swap! 

Bring your yarn to share and/or come look for new-to-you yarn in the Community Meeting Room on Tuesday, March 19th from 3:30-5:30. Yarn of all fiber content, weight, and amount is welcome. 

A volunteer from the BPL Knitting Group will collect any unwanted yarn at the end of the event and donate it to a local reuse program.

Like to knit?  Join our Knitting Group at the Central Library.  We meet the first and third Tuesday of the month from 3:30 - 5:30 PM in the Community Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Central Library.  Beginners to experts of all ages are welcome. Knitting needles and yarn will be available, but bring your own if you have a project in mind. Snacks and tea will be provided.

 

Masks are strongly encouraged for everyone inside City facilities. If you need a mask, ask for one at the service desk.

Whether you're looking to learn a new project or just have some fun with like-minded individuals, CraftLab is the perfect space for you. Join us for an afternoon of creativity and let's build something amazing together!

This month we will be making beautiful paper beads out of recycled paper and glue along with basic jewelry making if you so choose. You're invited to bring your own leftover craft paper, magazines and even junk mail! We will also provide all the materials you need.  It will be an easy-to-follow, fun, relaxing process.
