Claremont Book Club @Claremont

In 1955, British author Catherine Storr wrote a humorous children’s book to help her daughter Cecilia, nicknamed Polly, feel a bit more brave. The resulting work, Clever Polly an the Stupid Wolf, has never been out of print and was described in a recent Guardian article as reading “like a feminist reworking of Little Red Riding Hood“ and as being wonderfully contemporary, with no helpless little girls or doddering grannies.
