Central Library Teen Room Redesign

Are you a teenager with opinions? We are looking for 15 people currently in grades 8-11 to help us design the new Central Library Teen Room. Here’s what our ideal group looks like.

  • 12 students from grades 9, 10 and 11
  • 3 students from grade 8
  • A mix of library users and non-library users
  • A diverse group whose members represent neighborhoods throughout the city

If selected, you’ll work with Library staff and architects from local firm Noll & Tam. What’s in it for you? Civic engagement. Leadership skills development. Community service hours. You will also receive letters of recommendation and appreciation as well as a stipend at the end of the project. Your commitment? Attend at least 3 of 5 meetings between February and June, 2015. Meetings will take place at the Central Library after school. We're not sure of the exact dates yet, but the first meeting will be in late February or early March.
