Eric Drooker and the Art of HOWL @ North
Join North Branch in an after-hours celebration of Banned Books Week as we welcome graphic artist Eric Drooker, who will discuss his friendship with Allen Ginsberg and their collaboration on the graphic novelization of Ginsberg’s iconic, and much banned, poem, HOWL.

Make Some Thing: Black-Out Poetry @ North
In celebration of Banned Books Week, we will engage in a little "creative censoring" of our own, taking pages of existing text and redacting all the words we don't want to keep to create our own, new poetic creations! All teens welcome,
Banned Books Week Bike Party
Join us for the second annual Banned Books Week Bike Party! This year, we'll meet at the South Branch (1901 Russell St.) for a kickoff celebration featuring bike decorating, music and more. We'll then ride as a group over to the Central Library (2090 Kittredge) via Russell, Milvia and Kittredge Streets for a reading from some of the most frequently challenged books. We'll raffle off a prize for readers at the end! The ride is about 1 mile long and is perfect for beginning cyclists and kids.
Banned Book Week Game!
Teen Services and West Branch celebrate Banned Book Week with a display of the best banned books and a game, Guess the Banned Book. We will have a large jar filled with a shredded banned book.
