Community Outreach in the Library (COIL) is a Berkeley Public Library program that hosts various community organizations which provide information, referrals and resources to people experiencing homelessness. Some of these organizations may also provide services to people who are housed. The services are provided at the Central Library, 2090 Kittredge St., on the 2nd floor.

Berkeley Free Clinic: health and medical appointments and referrals, hygiene kits, Covered California: First Saturday of the month, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Homeless Action Center (HAC): Assists people to apply for General Assistance, CalFresh (food stamps), Medi-Cal and more. HAC reps will also dicuss eligbility and referral process for receiving State Supplemental Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI): 2nd Friday of the month, 11 am - 1 pm.
Lawyers in the Library (LIL): Free consultations with a lawyer for all patrons, sponsored by the Alameda County Law Library: 2nd Tuesday of the month, Signups, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm, followed by lottery selection; legal consultations, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
