Program, up to eight weeks long, provides emergency shelter for women experiencing domestic violence and their children. No address is made public for the protection of the women and children. Upon entering, a woman must agree never to disclose the address to anyone.
Women and children are provided with beds in a dorm-style room plus sheets, towels, clothing, food, and toiletries for up to eight weeks. Recreation program and counseling for children. Occupants share in chores. Peer and professional counseling available. Can house six to seven families per month. Counseling Center for women not in the shelter program (but needing counseling for current or previous domestic abuse) provides counseling, assessments, and referrals for client's immediate needs.
Teen Violence Prevention offers program and afterschool support groups in relationship violence prevention; call for information.
Volunteer opportunites available.
