My Debut Novel and How I Got It Published: Patricia Bracewell Shares the Magical Journey of Her 1st Book, Shadow on the Crown

Novelist Patricia Bracewell, will share the amazing story of how her debut historical novel, Shadow on the Crown (Viking, 2013), got written, found an agent and major publisher, and paved the way for her sequel, The Price of Blood, coming out in early 2015. Her books concern the gripping tale of the medieval English queen, Emma of Normandy, whose marriage to an English king set in motion a series of events that would culminate in the Norman conquest of England

Mary Jo and Nello Pace: A Celebration of Generosity

North Branch honors the generous gift of the Pace Family in support of programs and services at North with an after-hours gathering of family, friends and neighbors of Mary Jo and Nello Pace from 6:30—8:30pm on Saturday October 18th.

Musical entertainment will be provided by The Carol Trio. Light refreshments will be served.

Holiday Wrappings @Central

3rd Floor Community Meeting Room

Join Art & Music staff in making cinnamon-scented ornaments/gift tags to take home and enjoy. Participants will receive a recipe and make several examples to take with them. This craft will be accompanied by a demonstration of creative, inexpensive gift wrapping ideas and inspirations. Participation is limited to the first 15 registrants.  Call 981-6121 to sign up.

We have great resources online or in the library to help with your writing, from grammar guides to thesauruses: as well as books on how to plot your novel find an agent and get your book published. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a creative writing project launched by the nonprofit of the same name to encourage writers of all ages to complete a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 pm November 30.
