Join us in the 3rd floor Community Meeting Room for a Round Table Collaborative Collage Workshop.
We'll create collaborative collages using a hybrid method that encourages self-determination and creative independence within a collective, interdependent structure. Each participant will have a chance to start and finish a collage, and to contribute to several others.
This workshop will be led by Marty McCutcheon, the founding operator of Round Table Collaboration, a Berkeley-based organization devising and developing dense, circular, sequential, creative, leaderless collaborations. Round Table projects bring groups of participants together to produce sets of artworks. The process is such that the resulting number of artworks is equal to the number of participants.
No previous collage experience is required. Ages 12 and up are welcome.
This workshop is part of a series of Round Table Collaboration projects happening at Berkeley Public Library:
- Starting January 9, collaborative collages will be available for checkout and alteration from the 5th floor Art & Music Desk.
- from January 9 - March 5, the exhibit Round Table Collaboration, Selections from the Postal-Collage Projects will be on view in the 5th floor Art & Music Department.
- on February 25, Marty McCutcheon will lead the Drawing Group in a series of collaborative drawing exercises.
