Why do you need to watch out? The quick answer is: Old news may not fit a new day. As you update the Experience section of your resume, the approach of adding your current or most recent job before earlier employments may give you the sense that you have completed the task. Stopping at this point, though, may undermine your chances to be a good fit to the job you now seek. Paying attention to key words used in job postings and adjusting for industry changes and job trends is a better start. Then modify the job descriptions of earlier employments also, which will help crash through the tsunami of resistance (digital scanning, also known as applicant tracking systems). Reflecting on your current or most recent position, did your responsibilities from the first day of your job expand? Is it time to move up a notch or two as you search for your next employment?
