Shakespeare Outside the Box: Much Ado About Nothing @Central CMR

3rd floor Community Meeting Room

Kenneth Branagh directed and stars in this lively and accessible slapstick interpretation, with then-wife Emma Thompson as Beatrice.  Also starring Denzel Washigton, Keanu Reeves and Michael Keaton. Next up: Sirs Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen in the 2015 film of Ronald Harwood's play about an aging Shakespearean actor: "The Dresser" on Saturday, February 23.

Shakespeare Outside the Box: Macbeth @Central CMR

3rd floor Community Meeting Room

This 1948 film was directed by and stars Orson Welles, with striking cinematography from John Russell of Psycho fame. A haunting, eccentric production with Welles' frequent radio costar Jeanette Nolan as Lady Macbeth. Next up: Kenneth Branagh's 1993 lively romp, "Much Ado About Nothing", on Sunday, February 17.
