Students from the Berkeley Public Library, Spring, 2016, Memoir Writing Workshop will read from their original stories. Students will also be reading their memoirs at Litcrawl in San Francisco, as part of San Francisco's annual Bay Area literary Festival, Litquake. Instructor and anthologist, Frances Lefkowitz, is the author of the memoir To Have Not, about growing up poor in 1970s San Francisco. She is the founder/director of the Community Memoir Project, which brings free memoir-writing workshops to public libraries. Her stories and essays appear in Tin House, The Sun, Glimmer Train, Catamaran, San Francisco Chronicle, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, and many more.
