Memoir Anthology Book Launch Celebration @Central CMR

Join us in a reception for the forthcoming anthology, Red Skirt, Blue Jeans: True Stories from the Berkeley Public Library Memoir Writers. Students from the Berkeley Public Library, Spring, 2016, Memoir Writing Workshop will read from their original stories. Central Branch of the Berkeley Public Library. 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room.

Students will also be reading their memoirs at Litcrawl in San Francisco, as part of San Francisco's annual Bay Area literary Festival, Litquake.  For more information see separate event entry for Community Memoir Project presents Talking to the Wall: True Stories,  Saturday, October 15, 7:15pm - 8:15pm.

Instructor and anthologist, Frances Lefkowitz, is the author of the memoir To Have Not, about growing up poor in 1970s San Francisco. She is the  founder/director of the Community Memoir Project, which brings free memoir-writing workshops to public libraries. Her stories and essays appear in Tin House, The Sun, Glimmer Train, Catamaran, San Francisco Chronicle, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, and many more.
