The Berkeley Public Library celebrates the 30th Anniversary of 924 Gilman and the legacy of East Bay punk rock with the Lookout! Bookout! - a three-event series spotlighting luminaries from the legendary Gilman/Lookout scene!
Our first event features Larry Livermore and Chris Appelgren, the owners of Lookout Records, who will be giving a talk on the history of the label, with a question and answer session to follow. Larry Livermore founded Lookout Records in 1986, which released albums by bands such as Operation Ivy, Green Day, Screeching Weasel, Neurosis, and many more! Chris Appelgren took over in 1997, though he had been involved with the label since the beginning.
