Can you use free legal advice?

A volunteer lawyer will answer legal questions about housing, employment, immigration, and other concerns and will let you know what steps you need to take.

The Lawyers in the Library (LITL) program at the Central Library is scheduled to take place the 2nd Tuesday of every month, but please call on the event date to confirm at 510-981-6148. Sign up at the 2nd floor Reference Desk, in person only, beginning at 5:00 pm. Names will be drawn by lottery at 6:00 pm No telephone sign-ups. The lawyer consults from 6:00 pm tp 7:30 pm, and sees up to 7 people for about 10-15 minutes each.

The attorney cannot represent you in court, but will suggest other options and resources for you.

Lawyers in the Library is a free service of Legal Access Alameda (Legal Access), the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association. LITL is staffed by volunteer attorneys.
