In this NaNoWriMo workshop, teens and adults will be introduced to the exciting genre of flash fiction. This style of writing demands brevity, prioritizing intensity of vision over plot and character development. It serves as an exciting and accessible point of entry for those overwhelmed by the thought of writing a full-length story and as a catalyst to spur further creative efforts. At the start of the session, we will learn features and techniques of flash fiction. Rachel Rosekind, PhD: local writer, teacher and editor will guide us through two choices of writing exercises. In conclusion, participants will be invited to share their work.
