Book Into Film: Rebecca @Central CMR

July 15, 2018 - 1:30pm-4:00pm
3rd floor Community Meeting Room
Book Into Film is a library series meeting every other month, where you are invited to read the book on your own, watch the film with others at the library, and stay after the screening for a discussion of both book and film. This month's book/film combination is Daphne du Maurier's 1938 novel Rebecca.  We will be watching the 1940 film of the same name, starring Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine and Judith Anderson, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. All three leads were nominated for Oscars, and the film won Best Picture as well as Best Black and White Cinematography.  Check out one of the library's copies of the book, available in print, audiobook or ebook.  Our next book/film will be Sunday, September 16: True Grit, book by Charles Portis, film directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.
