August 26, 2018 - 1:30pm-4:00pm (ended)

3rd floor Community Meeting Room

Book Into Film is a monthly library series, in which you are invited to read the book on your own, watch the film with others at the library, and stay after the screening for a discussion of both book and film.

This month's book/film combination is Louisa May Alcott's classic Little Women. We will be watching the 1994 film of the same name, starring Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, Christian Bale and Gabriel Byrne, directed by Gillian Armstrong. Critically praised, with a moving score, the visually beautiful film emphasizes the forward-thinking feminism of Alcott's novel. Check out one of the library's copies of the book, available in print, audiobook or ebook.

Our next book/film will be Sunday, September 16: True Grit, book by Charles Portis, 2010 film directed by the Coen brothers.
