Banned Book-to-Movie Night @North

September 25, 2014 - 6:00pm (ended)

North Branch Library celebrates banned books with a screening of the Academy Award Nominated animated film Persepolis from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 25.

The film is the critically acclaimed adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel of the same title. Satrapi's work was most recently banned in the Chicago school district in 2013, sparking protests from the teacher's union and from students.

The North Branch Library's Book Club reads Persepolis in August and September, and will discuss the controversial work in it's meeting on Thursday, September 18.

Join us for a fantastic film, some lively discussion, and, of course, light refreshments.
