THP South will feature a film on Thursdays in the Community Room:
May 2 @ 5:30PM : The Big Sick - Based on a true story, Pakistani-American man falls for a white graduate student, hiding their romance from his family. When their relationship gets serious, she develops an illness, which forces him to tell his family and bond with hers.
May 16 @ 6:00PM : Lilo & Stitch - A Hawaiian orphan girl adopts a precocious pet that is a creature from another planet.
May 23 @ 5:30PM : Gook - Two Korean American brothers run their father's shoe store in a African American community in Los Angeles. One brother dreams of becoming a recording artist, while the other struggles to keep the store afloat.
May 30 @ 5:15PM : Joy Luck Club - Based on sixteen interwoven stories about conflict between Chinese immigrant mothers and their American-raised daughters. Told from different points of view, the wisdom in the film play out in stories of love, hope, desire and loss.
