The 35th Annual Quilt Show is here through June 5, and it's gorgeous! With over 50 items ranging from traditional to outrageous, representing many different styles and traditions, there's something for everyone. From an adorable "Barefoot Boy" applique baby quilt made for the arrival of a great grandson (the first male born into this family in three generations) to a stunning contemporary depiction of the Hebrew alphabet in bold primary colors, you'll find much to marvel at.
The show is on Central's second floor, above the Reference Desk and in the Historic Lobby.
Stop by the Reference Desk and pick up a catalog. Each quilt is numbered and you can read the story behind each item in the show.
While you're here, be sure to stop by the 5th floor Art & Music desk to participate in the interactive part of the show - a quilt that's in the process of being hand quilted! Help us out by adding some stitches. We have helpful staff and printed instructions for those who haven't tried hand quilting before. This is a perfect opportunity to give it a try! While you're working take a break to watch a slideshow of quilts from last year's quilt show.
The show runs from Sunday, May 1 - Sunday June 5, and is accessible whenever the library is open.
