Story Time

Join us on Saturday, November 18 at 11am for an Indigenous Storytime with storytelling artisan and educator Alicia Retes.  This special storytime will be held in the North Branch Community Meeting Room.

Inspired by many legends of The Three Sisters - Corn, Bean and Squash, Alicia Retes' engaging Pan-American adaption includes colorful corn husk characters who reveal their Central and South America origins. Three Plant Sisters move into the audience to share their dreams, trials and tribulations of independence, respect, cooperation and community service.

In partnership with Berkeley Animal Care Services, please join us on Saturday, October 21 from 2pm to 3pm for a special cat themed Halloween storytime.  Enjoy favorite Halloween stories read by BACS volunteers, sing not-so-scary songs, and maybe pet a cat or two (if available).

Costumes HIGHLY encouraged, especially witch and wizard outfits.

This program will be held in North Branch's downstairs Community Meeting Room.  Space limited.

Please join us at the Freight & Salvage, one of Berkeley's oldest and most beloved music venues, for a special musical story time series with the Berkeley Public Library's Story Time Band, featuring SPECIAL GUEST, comedian and author, Jesús Trejo!

Join us at the Claremont Branch Library on Halloween afternoon for a special holiday-themed Story Time with our Story Time Band, a "Spooktacular" puppet show with Fratello Marionettes, and special trick-or-treat giveaways!

6:00 p.m. - Trick-or-Treating (inside the library)

Join us for Pajama Story Time the first Thursday evening of each month!

Bring your favorite stuffed animal & cozy blanket to North Branch Library and enjoy stories & songs before bedtime. Pajamas and fuzzy slippers are optional for this evening story time.

Stay-n-Play a while, right after our Bilingual Baby Bounce. It's a great way to build early social and emotional skills by spending time together!

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us on Saturday, September 23 at 3pm for a Lucha Libre Storytime with a real-life luchador! Mexican wrestler El Mago will be present with special guest wrestlers LoverBoy Leo, Jacob Fatu, Journey Fatu, Juicy Finau, and Parisi. Watch as they share their best wrestling moves!

This event will take place on the North Branch Lawn and will be followed by a meet-and-greet with the wrestlers.
