Interior Public Area Planning @Central

Exterior of Central Library
April 16, 2014 - 6:30pm-8:00pm (ended)

Come to Central Library Community Meeting Room, 3rd Floor. and tell us what you want Central's interior spaces to look like. The award-winning design firm of Noll & Tam Architects and Planners has been selected to provide a full range of programmatic, architectural and design services for the Central Library. Renovations of the interior public spaces will improve the layout of collections, lighting, placement of the public computers, and address the need for quiet and group study areas as well as adequate and appropriate space to meet the needs of teens and youth. After a competitive process, the design firm was selected based on their extensive library design experience and experience working in the City of Berkeley. There will be another public meeting on Saturday, April 26, 12-1 pm in the Central Children's Room, 4th Floor.

Light refreshments will be provided. More information about the project will be posted on the Library’s website, http://www.berkeleypubliclibrary.org/, under Planning. For more information about these meetings,  please contact Library Administration at 510-981-6195.
