The Way Back @Central

Author Phil Coffin visits the Library to discuss his new book, The Way Back, about the Berkeley Tuolumne Camp's resurrection after the Rim Fire, it's colorful past and the river that shaped it.  Split into three parts, the book shares Phil's experiences as a longtime staffperson at the Camp.  In Part I Phil rides his bike from Camp all the way back to Oakland, exploring the natural and built environment of the Tuolumne River watershed. Part II is a collection of reflections on his experience as camp staff in the 1990s, when diversity and creativity inspired a renaissance at Camp.

Drawing and Talking Little Monarchs w/ Jonathan Case - TIME CHANGE

Thanks to all those who registered for the event!

Unfortunately Jonathan Case experienced some car trouble on his drive up to the Bay Area. He still hopes to make the event, with a shift in time.

The event will now take place with Jonathan from 4:30-5:30pm, and at 4pm we will also have some art materials and guidance if you’d like to get drawing. At that time you would also be able to get a free copy of Little Monarchs while supplies last, along with wildflower seed packets to take home!

We will keep you updated if anything else changes!
