Today — Saturday, May 1st — is Free Comic Book Day, and the Berkeley Public Library is giving you several opportunities to get in on the action.
Head to any Berkeley Public Library location today and enter to win a $50 gift certificate to Comic Relief or one of 10 great graphic novels!
Today drop by the Claremont, North, or South branches of the Berkeley Public Library OR your favorite local comic book store for armloads of free stuff! Free Comic Book Day events will be happening at the following Berkeley Public Library locations:
• Claremont Branch (2940 Benvenue) – 10am to 1pm
• South Branch (1901 Russell at MLK) – 3pm to 6pm
• North Branch (1170 The Alameda) – 10am to 1pm
• West Branch (1125 University Ave) – Raffle for teens. Comic giveaway to be rescheduled

No, this event was not a fundraiser. In fact, our Friends of the Berkeley Public Library kindly gave us funding to purchase the sample comics so that we could distribute them to teen readers.

How would you possibly succeed in making money by giving things away for free?! Just curious…

Hey Pierre this response is for you.
You have to understand by giving things away people will probably want to pay you back in some way or another out of kindness. You should give away stuff for free also because someone might pay u back. It is worth a try believe me.
