Both firms bring extensive experiences working on civic projects and they are excited and thrilled to be working in Berkeley renovating and expanding the branch libraries
Harley Ellis Devereaux - GreenWorks Studio (www.harleyellis.com) is located in West Berkeley . They are dedicated to developing and applying innovative solutions in sustainable design and construction, having worked on over 50 projects including one LEED Platinum-certified building.
Gould Evans / Baum Thornley (http://www.btarchitects.com/) is a recent merger between the two architectural firms. Baum Thornley has experience working in the City of Berkeley and Gould Evans brings extensive experience working on library projects.
Contract approvals by the Board of Library Trustees and Berkeley City Council will take place in the next few months, and later this fall the Berkeley Public Library will be engaging the Berkeley community in the development of plans to expand and renovate their neighborhood branch libraries to make them seismically safe and ADA-accessible.
